LATVIA: A LAND OF FORESTS, multimedia DVD

The multimedia DVD “Latvia: A Land of Forests” is an interactive journey through 69 of the most beautiful woodland areas in Latvia. Pictures of the locations, panoramic views, videos and nature sounds are accompanied by excerpts from Imants Ziedonis and Rimants Ziedonis’s texts for their book “In Latvia, a Land of Forests”, which lies at the foundation of this project. The disc contains a two-level interactive map, which provides information on woodland locations of cultural and historical importance and shows the river network, Latvian lakes, cities and motorways. The map acts as a menu, in which juicy lingonberries mark the viewable locations. The DVD “Latvia: A Land of Forests” is a comprehensive project and comprises a large volume of visual information; it fulfils the original intention of presenting an emotionally and visually rich picture of Latvian forestlands.
